Get help learning about parenting and child care at the resources below:

  • Directory of Fatherhood Programs. A directory of programs, put together by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, that support fathers with parenting education, case management, counseling, employment, and more. Review the programs listed to identify ones whose location is convenient and whose services meet your needs. Contact them using the phone number in their listing or by visiting their website.
  • Displaced Homemaker Program. This is a statewide program that local organizations administer. It offers short-term educational or training grants for individuals newly joining the workforce after having been previously an unpaid homemaker. To qualify, individuals who have previously been unpaid homemakers but now must enter the workforce due to separation, divorce, disability, or death of a spouse/significant other. Must be receiving public assistance but near end of eligibility and also age 40 or older. Contact the program for your county.
